INDIVIDUAL MONITORING

MEDIRAY provides individual monitoring services to workers professionally exposed to ionizing radiation. The Laboratory, uses whole body and wrist dosemeters in order toestimate the personal dose equivalent Hp(10) and Hp(0,07) respectively.

OSL TECHNOLOGY

Our dosemeters are passive detectors of photons and β-particles and are based on Optically Stimulated Luminescence technology. The OSL material used in MEDIRAY’s dosemeters is Aluminum Oxide doped with Carbon (Al2O3:C). OSL signal (blue light) is collected afterstimulating the irradiated dosemeter with a LED beam (green light).

ADVANTAGES

Capability of multiple read-outs of dosemeters, in case of unusual dose values.

Read out of late return dosemeters with high reliability, due to their low fading (signal loss with time).

Use of Control dosemeters for accurate dose monitoring during transportation

Dosemeters are not affected by water or dirt

Dosemeters are independent of environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, light exposure)

High and constant sensitivity – No calibration of the dosemeters is required.
